An independent Spanish-language outlet is not a luxury: it is a necessity. Too many Hispanic readers consume information mediated by algorithms that do not understand their context.

The reading experience is non-negotiable. No matter how much an advertiser pays: if a format destroys the reading flow, we do not use it.

We do not do clickbait. A headline that deceives the reader into clicking is a broken contract. We prefer fewer clicks to disappointed readers.

We are transparent about how we are funded. Sponsored content is always labelled. There are no grey areas.

We use AI as a tool, not as a replacement for editorial judgement. Every published piece has a human decision behind it.

We measure what matters to the reader, not what is convenient for us to report. Reading time and retention matter more than pageviews.

This is a project under construction. We do not pretend to have everything figured out. We iterate in public and change our minds when the evidence justifies it.
